Ms. Sinee Dumrongkitkarn has continued a family business, established in 1989, in mulberry paper production in Phrae province under Zenith Enterprise. She has sought ways to develop existing materials with more added value.
With her paper business distributing products to the United States and Europe, Ms. Sinee began to expand into the domestic market, by es-tablishing Zequenz, a Thai brand of notebooks and stationary products with the same quality as imported products. The product line includes the Classic 360๐ Notebook Collection, will unique curve bindings, and smooth hand-sanded edges, and the Novelty Notebook Collection, journals with zigzag-sewn covers with 2 notebooks inside which are perfect for writing enthusiasts to carry everywhere.
The research and development
Ms. Sinee said, the key of operating SMEs was to make products distinc-tive by implementing research and development to always meet the needs and solve problems of users. This should go together with branding execution which would enhance a business to sustainably grow. She further said that the research and development had to be implemented while presenting the products’ identity. She elaborated that the products’ identity was not decided by us, but by intently listening to consumers.
Besides the research and development, Zequenz uses design as a key tool to develop products. Initially, Ms. Sinee sketched the designs of notebook and invented all collections by herself. She has not only created new products, but also the vision of Zequenz which has become a lifestyle product for the new generation.

Each Zequenz product is a perfect combination of creativity and the quality of materials, the design, and the well-planned production process. The brand selects artificial leather for covers through an animal-free policy, and uses eco-friendly polyurethane instead of PVC as it is not biodegradable. In addition, the origin of materials and standardized production process make notebooks last 3-5 years longer and even more durable.

The production process of Zequenz is called ‘mass customization’. Every staff member has to attend training and receive an employee handbook to study thoroughly before starting work, from the beginning to the end. Every step is hand-crafted, reflecting the brand’s determination to make users sense the quality. The meticulousness of the process helps enhance flexibility of the products, different from those produced by machine alone. This particular process makes Zequenz’s notebooks distinctive and un-duplicable.
